Pop Music Chart Day

The 4th January is Pop Music Chart Day. Tune Into English has published the UK Top 10 on Speak Up since 2010, and all Top 40 hits since then are on the Karaoke page. You can see this week’s charts here, and the link on Tune’s homepage (as well as on www.speakuponline.it) is updated weekly.

January’s new downloadable worksheets

The King of Rock 'n' Roll is also the King of Number 1s - Elvis Presley (who would be 84 on the 8th of this month) has had 21 chart-topping singles in the UK chart, compared to The Beatles’ 17.

All Shook Up: this was Elvis’s first UK Number 1, in 1957, remaining on top for 7 weeks. Regular contributor Mena Bianco’s worksheet features a vocabulary activity for parts of the body.

Hound Dog: this only made Number 2 in the UK, in 1956, but Elvis’s version is considered one of the greatest recordings of all time. This low level worksheet has a crossword using images.
