Pilgrims News November 2027

The last few months have been a very busy time for Pilgrims Teacher Training. In keeping with our aim to be innovative, I am really pleased to say we have just held the first Pilgrims online conference hosted by Humanising Language teaching and the Teacher Trainer Journal – Humanising Language Teaching Today – on 10th and 11th October. We had almost 100 participants registered from across the world, with everyone engaging in the experience of what humanising language teaching can mean today. There will be various reports on the conference in forthcoming issues of both The Pilgrims Teacher Trainer Journal and Humanising Language Teaching so do watch out for these.

We are very pleased that members of the MenTRnet network https://mentrnet.net/ from across the world had roles of ‘roving reporters’ in the conference and they will be reporting on their experience in future issues of Humanising Language Teaching and the Teacher Trainer Journal. The conference brochure with details of all the speakers and presentations is still available with this link https://www.pilgrims.co.uk/teacher-training-courses/online-conference

HOT NEWS !!!!

We have four pieces of hot news this time.

The first piece of news is we had a very successful July and August with our Pilgrims teacher training courses in July in Segovia – especially with the partnership with the Castilla y Leon training department and also with our collaboration with the Learn and Lead Innovation network in August.

The second piece of hot news is that we will be back in Segovia in July 2027 and we also intend to offer a Pilgrims’ course experience in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. This will be hosted by our sister school – Edinburgh School of English. Both these courses will attract Erasmus + funding and more news will soon be available on our website https://www.pilgrims.co.uk/teacher-training-courses We are really delighted that the United Kingdom has returned to the Erasmus + family in 2027.

The third piece of news is that Pilgrims Teacher Training continues to be represented at conferences held by teachers associations and do come and find us at a conference near you that you will be attending.

The fourth piece of news is that Pilgrims Teacher Training is transitioning to an independent not for profit organization in 2027 with membership open to all teachers and teacher educators – more news on this will also appear on our website.  For the cost of 10 Euro a year membership will entitle you to all sorts of discount and free access to Pilgrims events, materials and resources throughout the year – so do check this out as it becomes available. More importantly, membership will also give you the possibility to be involved in decision making on the future direction of Pilgrims Teacher Training, We think this is an exciting new departure for what will be a ‘new Pilgrims teaching and training network’.

Our message

Pilgrims Teacher Training continues to renew, develop and grow. We are doing this in different ways than we used to do and this makes it all the more exciting for us and we hope for you! We look forward to you joining us in everything we are doing. We believe that our principles of humanistic and inclusive teaching and learning is alive and well.
