Bonnie Tsai Scholarship – Winner Announced

This is the third time we have run the Bonnie Tsai Scholarship Competition

( https://www.hltmag.co.uk/aug18/pilgrims-news). We had a number of fantastic contributions so the reaching the verdict was difficult. In the words of the Jury (Mario Rinvolucri, Paul Davis and Hania Kryszewska):

Hajnalka’s submission is outstanding because it deals with critical thinking and creativity at an early age. It also raises issues relating to the environment.  The activities are aimed at young learners and encourage them to think and experiment. Hajnalka treats her young learners like scientists and her approach is hands-one, real, honest, varied, and very sensory. At first glance the activities may seem simple, but when you analyse them, and look at how they are interconnected, you will see that this impression of simplicity is superficial, and, in fact, her ideas and way of thinking are very complex.

You will be able to read Hajnalka’s contribution in the June issue of HLT.  A selection of the other contributions will be published in later issues of HLT. We hope to run another competition soon, so keep your eyes open for more details. Who knows, you could be the next winner.
