‘A Day in the Life of …’: An International Competition

Kazimierz Pulaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom, Poland is running an international video competition. We would like to invite primary and secondary students (aged 6-18) to create a 3-minute video on the topic: ‘A day in the life of …(nationality)… students’.

The task is to record a short video to show the way of life of typical students in their hometown. Students can choose the whole day, starting from the morning till the evening or a typical school day.

Students upload their videos onto a video-sharing site (YouTube or Vimeo, etc.) and send the links to video.contest@wp.pl

Entry assessment will be done in two stages:

1. In the first stage, 20 best films will be selected by the jury appointed by the Organiser. Composition of the jury in the 1st stage of the competition: Magdalena Dygała, Khurram Shahzad, Ceren TEZEL KELEŞ, Sevinç Aytaş, Tina Elena Ene, María Palma García Hormigo.

2. In the second stage of the competition, the Organizer will appoint a group of experts in the field of teaching, who will select 2 (out of 20 videos) winning video entries. Composition of the jury in the 2nd stage of the competition: Joanna Pawłowska, Kieran Donaghy, Jon Hird, John Hughes, Rob Howard.

At each stage, members of the jury appointed by the Organiser will evaluate the video entries by awarding points at their own discretion: 10 points for topic, 10 points for creativity, 10 points for emotional value, 5 points for technical excellence. Sum: 35 points

 

Prizes

1st prize: a gift card with a value of not less than 150 euros, a board game REGIPIO, books and gadgets from the publishers: Oxford University Press, Nowa Era, Macmillan and Express Publishing.

2nd prize: a board game REGIPIO, books and gadgets from the publishers: Oxford University Press, Nowa Era, Macmillan and Express Publishing.

The international video competition is aimed at meeting the following goals:

- provide an opportunity for students from different countries to demonstrate their

  way of life in an international video competition against their peers,

- choosing the most original video which shows a typical day of students in their

  hometown,

- encourage students to be creative,

- to show students’ talents,

- encourage students to use technologies.

We are very excited to announce the winners of the 3rd edition of the  international video competition.

We received many excellent video submissions from all over the world and it was amazing to see so many students in different school backgrounds.
